Brooke, Sandy, Ann and Rosie on our drive up into the Gatineau Hills on the Quebec side of Ottawa
Guess who!
Anne and Sandy at Kingsmere, the summer retreat of a wartime Canadian Prime Minister, McKenzie-King
The main lookout in the Gatineau Hills
Lunch in the small town of Wakefield
Rosie and Brooke walking back to the car after lunch
Brooke took us to have a look at Kanata Theatre. Now this is some amateur theatre, as you can see!
The stage and facilities were fabulous - as good as many professional theatres
The next day was still sunny but more humid. A cruise on the Ottawa River was the plan for the morning
The view of the locks on the Ottawa Canal, this time from on the Ottawa River
The oldest bridge across the Ottawa River, the Alexandra Bridge
View of the Canadian Parliament buildings from the River
The Rideau Falls into the Ottawa River
Along the Gatineau River that runs into the Ottawa River
The old Railway Station building in Ottawa
At the Hog's Back Falls about 10 kms from the centre of Ottawa
More of the Hog's Back Falls ...
And even more!
That evening we were very kindly invited to dinner by Mary and Jim, very close friends of Brooke and Rosie
Martha, Mary and Jim's daughter, was there as well. It was a great night, with fabulous food and lots of laughs!
Envy envy envy - that's my comment for today. loved the jump for joy Anne.
ReplyDeleteThose locks fascinate me as they look so close together.
Look forward to the coming days. Lorna
