Arrive New York

On the way, quick look at Times Square at night and then the first day walking around ...

Waiting in Sydney Airport to be called for our flight to New York 

In Transit at Los Angeles waiting for onward leg to New York 

We strolled out to Times Square after booking into Candlewood Suites. Found a great place for late dinner

Next day, Terri and Anne looking at some of the clothes in Macy 's department store

Passengers on the open top tour buses where all wearing plastic macks for the occasional shower which made them look like they were part of a nun's convention!

Walking North on Park Avenue we noticed increasing numbers of pedestrians walking in the street and lots of bicycles

Looking North towards Grand Central Station. All the pedestrians and bicycles were apparently due to something called the "Summer of Tunnels" when they close off various streets and tunnels to traffic for Saturday morning

Maybe it was the heavy security! This group of seven Police with two of them wearing hard hats and equipped with machines guns
